So, a week ago on Twitter I ranted about people using the word experience without qualification and deciding that the same set of skills and outcomes apply to anything experience-related. Experience is a complicated concept much like strategy or content, and it’s slowly being emptied out of actual meaning by being used to describe everything in the field of marketing, product design, customer spaces etc.
If you’re creating something for the purpose of attracting customers to your business, it’s likely you’ve been told you need an experience. Here’s a simple way to think about a very basic level of difference:
